Domaine Guion, Candide Bourgueil 2022

Domaine Guion was established in 1950 and is located in the heart of Bourgueil. Back then, the family were largely self-sufficient: also raising farm animals as well as planting many vegetables and grains in addition to their vines. The focus for the Guion family was always to preserve and nourish the land around them. With this in mind, they began to farm organically in 1965, becoming renowned as pioneers of organic grape growing in the Loire Valley by their fellow vignerons, and became fully biodynamic in 2021. Candide Bourgueil 2022 is made from 100% Cabernet Franc taken from clay-limestone soils. The grapes were hand-harvested and aged in stainless steel for 8-months prior to bottling. A super vibrant Cab Franc which exudes class with layers of red cherry, plum, herbs and bell pepper. It has a really concentrated juicy flavour, crunchy acidity and strong tannins on the palate.
